I sometimes wonder if the NFL is not allowed to shoot a player more than once, because I've seen other pictures like this.
This does kind of make you wonder how good Atogwe's field vision is if he can't look at a camera 3 feet in front of him.

I know we are all a little upset with Mr. Jackson for his comments about Rams fans, his holdout, his other comments about Rams fans and his general sauciness. However, Steven Jackson is single-handedly the most important player the Rams for the next 3-6 years and we should treat him like so. There is no reason to boo him when he is in street clothes, on the sideline, in a preseason game as the Rams fans did in Preseason Week 3.

Just having that confidence. Confidence is a major part of everything in this league. Getting that first game behind me, having some confidence, then being able to make some plays, it was a great feeling to contribute. It was another building game toward the regular season, working on the little adjustments, minor alignment changes. There is nothing better than that on-the-job training.

The No. 2 overall draft pick is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive end. The son of Hall of Famer Howie Long was one of the most touted players coming out this year. He has long arms and is strong and quick. Twin that with his upbringing and he has been stamped the "can't miss" draft pick. No one likes to hear that but Long is expected to be one of those special ones who makes it big.

Cornerback Fakhir Brown was in full sight on the sideline, his left shoulder in a brace. Brown was hurt midway through Friday's opening practice, and an MRI exam Saturday disclosed a slight tear of his rotator cuff, coach Scott Linehan reported.

Brown, who won't need surgery, is likely to be sidelined two to three weeks. That means he'll sit out the Rams' first preseason game, Aug. 9 at Tennessee.

The Rams were a mess last season amid an almost unfathomable number of injuries to their offensive line. They used 18 combinations on their offensive line in 2007. The thinking here is that St. Louis won't be nearly so unlucky that way this season, giving the Rams a better shot at keeping quarterback Marc Bulger healthy.
